The Alberta Wheat Commission announces results from 2022 farmer governance nominations

November 9, 2022 (Calgary, Alberta) – The Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) is pleased to announce the following results from farmer governance nominations that closed on October 31, 2022.

In Region 1, Dean Hubbard from Claresholm and Gary Stanford from Magrath will return as director and regional representative, respectively. Open positions remaining in Region 1 include one director position and two regional representative positions.

In Region 5, both Greg Sears from Sexsmith and David Bartlett from Fairview were acclaimed to return to their director roles, while Tasha Alexander of Brownvale will return as a regional representative. Open positions in Region 5 include two regional representatives.

Eligible Alberta wheat farmers in Regions 1 and 5 are encouraged to consider the open regional representative positions and can be nominated during their respective Regional Meetings held in Lethbridge on November 15, 2022 for Region 1 and Westlock on November 22, 2022 for Region 5.
