Alberta Grains implemented its sixth year of on-farm research through the Plot2Farm program during the 2025 growing season. Producers across the province conducted replicated and randomized trials evaluating seeding rates in barley, spring and winter wheat; fungicide timing in durum; plant growth regulator (PGR) applications under dryland and irrigated conditions; bio-stimulant systems; seed-placed phosphate fertility; and the use of a dry humic product.

In addition to the trials, Alberta Grains hosted two field days to showcase on-farm research in action. The first field day was held on June 24 near Strathmore, Alberta, in collaboration with Premium Ag, Bruce Farms Ltd., and Schultz Holdings Ltd., where participants toured multiple on-farm trials in the Wheatland County region.

The second field day followed on July 16 near Nisku, Alberta, in partnership with Croptimistic Technology, Alberta AgriSystems Living Lab, and Great West Farms, providing producers the opportunity to see treatments firsthand and discuss results and methodology with agronomists and hosts.
