Bill C-244 - Right to Repair Consultation

This summer, the Government of Canada invited feedback on right to repair legislation. Alberta Grains has long advocated for including farm machinery in Right to Repair legislation as proposed in Bill C-244, which amends section 41 of the Copyright Act. In Alberta Grains submission to the consultation we continued to highlight the challenges farmers face in accessing timely diagnoses and repair of their equipment, emphasizing the need for greater competition in the repair market, access to machine data, and lower repair costs for farmers.
