Signing of New Trade Agreement with Indonesia

Alberta Grains welcomes the recent signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Indonesia and Canada. Indonesia is Canada’s second largest market for non-durum wheat and also imports durum wheat, with Canadian exports totalling $1.1 billion in 2023. The agreement, which takes effect in 2026, includes provisions for broad tariff elimination and sets guidelines for sanitary and phytosanitary rules.
