Gate: Investing in the future of Canadian cereals
The Global Agricultural Technology Exchange (GATE) is a key initiative to diversify Canada’s cereal markets and ensure long-term sector stability. Canada’s cereals industry contributes more than $68 billion to the economy and supports over 37,000 jobs, making investment in innovation essential as global competition and trade risks continue to rise.
With $32.15 million raised toward its $100 million goal, including $4.3 million from Alberta Grains, GATE will strengthen Canada’s research, development, and innovation capacity. This investment will allow Cereals Canada to continue building new market opportunities and safeguard the sector against global trade volatility.
