Biological Carbon Canada Update and Farm Emissions Calculator

Alberta Grains is a supporting member of Biological Carbon Canada (BCC), an Alberta based non-profit that assists farmers, ranchers and foresters. BCC’s primary objectives include helping stakeholders find ways to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while enabling those in the sector to earn economic returns for actions that mitigate or remove GHG emissions.

Recently, BCC released an emissions footprint calculator for farm and ranches. This tool allows farmers to estimate their operation’s GHG emissions by considering various factors such as the type of operation, on-farm practices and carbon sinks.
