Alberta Grains announces 2026 executive team and board of directors

CALGARY, AB (February 3, 2026) - Following Alberta Grains’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last week in Edmonton during the CrossRoads Crops Conference, the commission is pleased to announce its 2026 executive team and board of directors, including Scott Jespersen as chair, Devin Hartzler as vice-chair and Stewart Oke as second vice-chair.

Jespersen, who farms near Spruce Grove, Alberta, will continue his role as chair, having first assumed the position in July 2025. Hartzler, who farms near Carstairs, Alberta, will continue his role as vice-chair. Oke, who farms near Delburne, Alberta, will also continue to serve as second vice-chair.

“I’m incredibly grateful to continue serving as the chair for Alberta Grains,” said Jespersen. “The board had a desire for continuity in the executive leadership structure, and I am excited to continue supporting work that delivers value back to Alberta’s wheat and barley farmers.”

Following last week’s AGM, Alberta Grains introduces its newly elected board directors:

Region 1: David Bishop.

Region 2: Cam MacFarquhar and Devin Hartzler.

Region 3: Greg Bott and Stewart Oke.

Region 4: Bernie Klammer and Mark Smook.

Region 5: Harvey Hagman and Scott Jespersen.

Region 6: Jesse Meyer and Tasha Alexander.

“Over the past year, Alberta Grains has made meaningful progress in advocating for farmers and strengthening the grain industry,” said Hartzler. “I look forward to continuing work that advances research, market development, agronomy and effective policy advocacy in support of a strong and competitive sector.”
