AWC congratulates Cereals Canada's newly appointed senior leadership team
The Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) welcomes Cereals Canada’s newly appointed senior leadership team. Today, the recently merged Cereals Canada organization announced the appointment of their Chief Executive Officer, Dean Dias and Chief Strategy Officer, Cam Dahl.
Dias served the Canadian International Grains Institute (Cigi) in a number of roles over the years including their Director of Value Chain Relations and Interim CEO prior to amalgamation.
“We are pleased with the appointment of Dean Dias as the CEO of Cereals Canada,” said Todd Hames, Chair of Cereals Canada and AWC. “During his time with Cigi, Dean has grown to be a leader in Canadian agriculture. We are excited for this next chapter and I look forward to Dean leading Cereals Canada into this new era.”
Dahl will be serving as Cereals Canada’s Chief Strategy Officer, which is focused on driving policy, government relations, and market access.
“Over the years, Cam has been a sustained force in driving agriculture policy, along with advancing market access issues,” said Hannah Konschuh, Cereals Canada board member and AWC Vice-Chair. “He is a reputable leader in our industry and we look forward to his strategic direction to further advance Canadian cereals in the global marketplace.”
As cited in this morning’s Cereals Canada announcement, the organization will be focusing on developing a new strategic plan and completing a branding review, engaging with members, staff and the industry at large. Key components of this vision will be centered around communications, policy, market development and support, research and innovation.
Today’s announcement follows the formal amalgamation of Cereals Canada and Cigi. Cereals Canada represents provincial producer commissions, grain companies, processors, exporters, and life science companies.
