Second annual CrossRoads Crop Conference moves to Calgary, Alberta, this winter to focus on agriculture innovation

The FarmTech Foundation of Alberta is proud to bring CrossRoads — Alberta’s new Crop Conference to Calgary, Alberta, on January 29 to 31, 2024 at The Westin Calgary Airport. This year’s theme will take on “new ideas and directions – examining big picture innovation in agriculture.” The second annual CrossRoads Crop Conference will serve as a gathering place for up to 800 farmers and industry members to take in cutting-edge discussions on innovation, agriculture policy, and on-farm management.

Conference keynotes include Lenore Newman, author of Dinner on Mars and director of the Food and Agriculture Institute at the University of the Fraser Valley, serial tech entrepreneur Walter Schwabe, and meteorologist Drew Learner, who will inspire discussion and examine how we will navigate and succeed in the future of agriculture in Alberta.

Building on the success of last year’s event, CrossRoads 2024 will feature a focus on networking and engagement, including event favorite “Beer Hour” extended to a “Beer Afternoon Social”, a range of new and exciting speakers, as well as a full hot breakfast each day!

“CrossRoads was warmly welcomed by farmers and industry to the agriculture event space this past January,” says Todd Hames, FarmTech Foundation of Alberta chair. “We are excited to host farmers in a new location next year and dive in to leading agriculture innovation that will help propel any cropping operation to new heights.” The conference plans to rotate between cities to ensure they are connecting with more farmers around the province.

Early bird registration for CrossRoads will open on October 2, 2023, with single day and two-day tickets. Registration includes a full hot breakfast and lunch buffet on each day. For more information about the conference, agenda, speakers, and tickets, please visit crossroadscropconference.ca.

The FarmTech Foundation of Alberta is a working collaboration by three of Alberta’s crop commissions — Alberta Canola, Alberta Grains and Alberta Pulse Growers. Following a longstanding history of successful events under FarmTech’s legacy, CrossRoads is proud to take its place as the premier agriculture conference in Western Canada.
