What’s the big deal with AgriProfit$?

AgriProfit$ is a voyage of discovery. Are you any better off today than you were three years ago? AgriProfit$ is a program run by Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation since 1990. A surveyor collects your production and financial information, which gives you a snapshot of how your farm is doing for the preceding year. The information collected is aggregated to produce benchmarks that help measure the health and performance of your farm and support good decision-making. The benchmarks are available at alberta.ca/agriprofits-resources.

What else do you get out of it? AgriProfit$ provides a detailed, written report on the whole farm as well as individual enterprises that occur on the farm. Although a farm unit may be profitable, overall, is every enterprise pulling its own weight? That’s one of the questions this program answers. It provides producers with the information and tools needed to make informed financial decisions and to get closer to those financial goals. Year-over-year, there may be variations in profitability but this program can shine a light on areas that need improvement or changes.
