Alberta Grains to be new name for merged wheat and barley commission

Two leading farmer-directed organizations, Alberta Barley and the Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) are excited to announce the name and logo of their merged commission, Alberta Grains. 

Agricultural producers can now receive $350,000 interest-free with a FarmCash advance!

As of May 8, 2023, western Canadian producers may receive the first $350,000 interest-free on FarmCash advances of up to $1 million, a $100,000 increase to the interest-free limit for the remainder of the 2023 Advance Payments Program (APP) year.

CWRC appoints new president, transitions host duties to MCA

May 25, 2023 (Carman, MB; Saskatoon, SK; Calgary, AB) – The Canadian Wheat Research Coalition (CWRC) – a collaboration between the Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC), Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission (Sask Wheat) and Manitoba Crop Alliance (MCA) – has appointed a new president, following the transition of hosting duties from AWC to MCA.
