Reverse Agronomy Update Sold Out, Virtual Presentation of AWC and AB Research Priorities, Cluster Deadlines, CJPS Special Issue
Hello Everyone,
There are four items in today’s Shop Talk:
- REMINDER! The Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) and Alberta Barley will present details of our newly updated research priorities at a virtual meeting on Friday, March 4 from 9-10 am. If you are interested in attending, the meeting link is linked here. As researchers are developing LOIs for AWC and Alberta Barleys’ consideration, we strongly advise you to consider these priorities in your future wheat and barley research plans.
- Reverse Agronomy Update provides the opportunity to learn about commercial crop production and on-farm issues from three Alberta farmers. This is an opportunity for crop researchers to develop their understanding of commercial barley, canola, pulse and wheat production systems to heighten the relevance of grower-funded research projects for on-farm adoption. This virtual session on Thursday, March 17, 2021 has sold out. For those not able to register, the recording will be shared after the event. We limited attendance to ensure that participants would have lots of time to ask questions of the farmer panelists in breakout rooms.
- Cluster Deadlines! Wheat cluster full proposals are due Friday, March 4th. Integrated Crop Agronomy Cluster (ICAC) LOIs are due Friday, April 1 (details are linked in the last Shop Talk with Sheri). Barley cluster full proposals are due Friday, April 1.
- The Canadian Journal of Plant Science is calling for papers on Cropping System Adaptation for Enhanced Resilience to Climate Change in Cold Climate Regions. The submission deadline is April 15, 2022. More information about manuscript submission for this Special Issue can be found here.
