Low Yield Allowance Being Increased for 2025 crop year.

The governments of Canada and Alberta, through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership have doubled the low yield allowance for cereals and pulse crops.

This increases the threshold of up to 300 kg per acre for eligible crops. The adjustment has been made to respond to a lack of precipitation in several areas in Alberta, particularly the Peace regions. It will allow producers to salvage poor quality cereal or pulse crops for livestock feed, rather than risk harvesting nothing.
